Child & Family Case Work

Dóchas has a staff of experienced, qualified, Garda vetted case workers who are allocated their specific child. The provide a range of supports on a weekly basis e.g., individual therapeutic sessions, paired work, home visits and group work.

As part of their role, they work collaboratively with external agencies and community organisations and link in with local schools on a regular basis. They attend family conferences, participate in Meitheal and hold regular sessions with parents to discuss and review their child’s progress. Parents are expected to engage with all parts of the process and dedicate the time needed to reflect and be actively involved in their family’s journey while they are attending Dóchas.

We deliver a number of tailor-made workshops and (themed) activities for children and parents across the year e.g., socialisation, dealing with anxiety, personal care, communication, annual festivals, and summer project with the support of the National Lottery Fund.

The team link in with CAMHS, social work, addiction services, youth services, sports development, housing, social protection, and advocate on behalf of families.
